Sharp Shooter

lissettemalvarado

For many centuries, men courting women was the norm. Now days women are being encouraged to take that first step. Let the person you are interested know what’s up and shoot your shot. Does it really work? Idk.

I decided to test this out and be more forward and open when it came to someone I was interested in. Not many people catch my eye but when it happens I usually let it slip by, because I believed if they guy liked me they would make it known. Overlooking the fact that maybe they were shy or did not get a inviting feeling coming from me (which happens).

But anyways, I tested it out. I put in the same effort I’d like the guy to have and took things the same pace I felt was appropriate.

Slowly. Very slowly. I realized how much I was trying to control the situation and the outcome of it. It was hard for me to figure out what things to say and when to say them. Am I putting the needed pressure or am I over doing it? Let‘s just say it was a disaster.

But even though I’d still like the guy to take charge, I see the benefits of putting yourself out there and going for what you want. Things I learned!

  • Men really do appreciate being the one approached and showing them that you know what you want and how to attain it. There is a limit to it, at some point they could feel like they want the control back and will take steps forward (if interested).

  • Even when it did not seem to go as I planned it. I was more in control of my feelings since I felt more in control of the situation. (I also know that a no means a better yes is coming)

  • Let things just go with the flow is key, and let go of expectations.

Some will say no, and others won’t. Courting correctly is a skill. And like plenty of things in life, they must be practiced before mastered.
